I am definitely very easily found on the internet. There are days when that freaks me out a little, and days when I don’t give it much thoughts. I google search myself all the time, too. I think it is a good idea to know what is out there about you, and what exactly other people could be finding.

There have been many (and will be many more) conversations with my daughter about people in her real life and people online. Although she doesn’t do much online right now that makes her findable, I know that as she gets older she will want to participate in social media.

The most important thing: “Parents need to act on the courage of their children. Doubt later. Punish a lie later. Act now.” YES! Yes and amen.

Same here. And I definitely put WAY TOO MUCH personal information out on the internet.

As for living so close to the Bad Doctor, that wouldn’t sit well with me AT ALL. Reformed or not. I would want to move, immediately.

My heart just shattered into a million pieces after reading this. I cannot even imagine what that 14 year old was going through where suicide seemed like his only option.

Aimee: Thanks for your words. Violence in schools, involving young people, always hits me in the gut. I remember feeling so helpless at times when I was young. I guess I had a guardian angel or something looking out for me, infusing me with enough hope to carry on.

Molly: It’s been my observation that men seem to recover from divorce slower than women. I guess it all depends on whether you are the one initiating proceedings or the one who is served. In this case the guy was blindsided. His ex-wife really played him and I felt terrible for him. Still, time would have healed his wounds. I’m so sorry he could not see that through the dark fog. Hope all is well with you.

I saw this and a friend’s daughter was locked down in the school. I don’t really have anything to add to what you said…I’m kind of at a loss for words. It scares me. I’ve been there and it is really a lonely terrible place. Sigh.

Wow, I have been so focused on the ways in which my life has benefited from divorce. I can’t even imagine suicide. But, it’s true. You can’t help anyone who can’t help themselves.

I have a long history of being attracted to wounded birds, as well. I’ve given up that bad habit, thankfully.
